这些海岛上的人和艺术就像那里的自然环境本身一样充满生命力和力量感，有一种原始而庄严的感觉。就像最后新西兰篇的结尾说的一样，这部纪录片也没有单纯从European的角度来讲，而是encounter这样的角度，使得这部纪录片更加客观。里面的小小细节也很震撼，比如Tahiti当地人的画，就是俯瞰视角下的当地生态环境，比如那幅日落追逐黑夜，比如Virgin Mary with moko，用贝壳做的眼睛在光影变换下仿佛在转动。btw James Fox写得和讲得真的太好了。
《Oceans Apart: Art And The Pacific With James Fox》的演员表演都很自然，剧情和人物也比较合理，没有太多的刻板印象，特别是在人物塑造上非常好，尤其是演员饰演的人物特别到位。
多线叙事交织得很清晰，最后收束得漂亮。
